"After Five" Pendant

For some time now I have been experimenting and working to design a "Summer" necklace.
I have almost finished it but I am not ready to show it just yet. Stay tuned.

Taking what I have learnt from the Summer necklace and adding some newer, "next step" ideas,
I have created two more large pendants. This is one of them.

A 12mm rivoli with size 15's in silver with black and gold 11's.
Around the outer edges of the black "flower" are 2.5mm crystals.
The pendant is hung on a black delica spiral weave.

Overall a very nice "after five" design I am sure some woman would enjoy wearing.

Red Pagoda

Following on from my recent posts here is another necklace I did in 2010 which is
in a series with some other pieces already shown.

This was the last in my series and has not been shown on my blog before.

The centrepiece is two squares which I have then joined in right angle weave with Swarovski crystals.
You cannot see the crystals in the pic but catch glimpses of sparkles during movement.
I wanted this necklace to be more day wear with a little but of sparkle.

I like the 'bale' of this piece and recently did another necklace using something similar.
A striking, statement piece I think.

thank you ladies

Recently I have had quite a lot of attention from people on Facebook and from ladies becoming
followers of my blog.

If it was at all possible I would send them all a beautiful bunch of flowers expressing my gratitude.

Since it is somewhat difficult to squeeze the flowers into the ethos I thought I would send a
picture of a nice bunch of flowers instead.

So thank you all for "friend requesting" me on Facebook
and for those who have joined my blog,

Thank you very, very much

Dragon's Bane

I am still sorting through and properly storing my jewellery "stash".

Here is a necklace I have had real problems photographing. Thanks to a friend of mine
this is the best photo so far.
I have posted this up onto my blog before and I wanted to share this again because of the better picture.

I call this necklace "Dragon's Bane" and I entered it into an exhibition and was awarded the
Elly Feldman Award for the Bead Society of Victoria, Member's Original Exhibition 2010.
This was the first time I had ever won anything so I was pretty happy..

Art Deco

I have posted this bracelet up on my blog before but thought it deserved another posting.

Still sorting and organising my collection
along with experimenting a new design I am re-hashing some older designs to keep
my follower's interested.

This is an Art Deco bracelet I designed in 2010 and entered into a Bugle Bead challenge for the
Bead Society of Victoria. I was awarded first place.

This was the first time I had ever won anything, so you can imagine how ecstatic I was.
More fuel for my jewellery passion, and it is still fired.

Candystripe

Here is another oldie but goldie.

I made this bracelet four years ago. I had been to the wholesalers and bought lots of
different coloured seed beads and put most of them into one design.

Thanks to a friend's comment it has only recently been given a name - Candystripe.
A double sided bracelet and a real eye-catcher.

A Net of Pearls

As I mentioned in the post below I am posting up some designs I did quite awhile ago.
Here is one of my favourites and a favourite with ladies as everyone I have made I have sold.

Swarovski 4mm shell base pearls in a size 15 seed bead netting in two colours.
I have worked the netting through magatamas and a 10mm grey shell pearl into
a 4 bead around herringbone wave.
Of course earrings were made also but forgot to take a pic of these.

Crochet & Herringbone

I am currently experimenting with some new designs and somewhat slow in posting
any new items to my blog.
I have had some friends wondering why less items are appearing,
so I thought I would show some earlier works, just to keep the momentum going.

Here is a necklace I made some years ago combining crochet and herringbone (ndebele) weave.
I enjoy crochet beading as it is slow getting all the beads on the thread but when you get started it is so quick.
The beads are, mother of pearl, red agate with burgundy and green freshwater pearls.
The loops of beads also have size 11 seed beads in an old gold.

I think a very classic and elegant piece.

Stella 2

Here is Stella 2. This is a progression of my last necklace (posted below)
As I finished Stella I was very keen to start another centrepiece. I just knew I could take it further.

Here is a double sided herringbone with a captured rivoli centrepiece,
Swarovski 2.5mm crystals and peanut beads adorn the centre and fringing drops .
I was enjoying the delicate look of the grape coloured size 15 seed bead
and kept adding and adding.

Very happy with this piece and will now work out a necklace design to hang it from. Maybe some other beaded shapes linked into a necklace. We shall see.

Stella

I have been asked to submit a proposal to teach in the Melbourne Bead Expo November 2012
and this is the design I have been working on over the Christmas, New Year break for this submission.

I have called her Stella.

It has taken me awhile to come up with how I want the components to join
and I have finally decided this to be the best and the easiest to teach.
These "star" like flowers are relatively easy to make being just two stitches of herringbone and peyote.
They can be made into a bracelet or necklace and they would make lovely earrings.
So I think I could be on a winner with this design. Time will tell.
