Another experiment taking place, not too sure where it is going yet.
I am liking the results so far, especially how I set the Swarovski drop, it really frames the drop well.
This design reminds me of my clasp I made awhile back and I think I may be
developing a "style" to my work.
I don't mind as it is good to have something no one else is doing.
I now have the necklace portion to make but not today as I need a bit of a break from beading.
I have been feeling a bit overwhelmed with commitments in the beading area.
I have two magazine publications about to happen, a submission for a book gallery, a design for the
Battle of the Beadsmith Tournament and I soon start teaching jewellery at a new college.
OMG......this passion of mine is turning into a job.....not too sure how I feel about that !!
That is really beautiful, Patrick. I love the "openness" of the design, with the smooth flowing lines and all the interesting negative spaces. It does frame the Swarovski drop perfectly. Congrats on all your beading ventures too - they sound so exciting. And good luck with the Tournament!
ReplyDeleteThank you Caroline for visiting and commenting. Much appreciated. I said to Neva Brown you should be in the Tournament, she agreed, but then said you were a very busy woman. I am astounded by your work, I think you may have guessed that eh !

Hi,Patrick:
ReplyDeleteSomething absolutely new has begun:-)
That's good, because I believe-beadweaving has got an infinite amount of combinations,so someday, among all those experiments and searching,You'll be able to say:-'This is my style, one, unrepeatable and unique',as it seems not everything has been revealed in this area.
Exciting-how the pendant will get developed:-)
Also-Your beading venture-as You've said-'the passion's started changing into a job'...happiness and anxiety at the same time,but-something happens and this is the most important.
Warm Greetings-Halinka-

Hello, I just found your site through a link from Pinterest. I have only seen two of your pieces so far -- although you can be sure I will be looking through your entire site now -- but I can tell you this, you absolutely have a unique and beautiful style of your own. I am very happy for you that this is turning into a job for you and I'm happy to have found your work at the beginning of that process. You seem to be able to express design elements from other types of jewelry in beads, which has been a constant interest of mine. I am especially intrigued by your creation of stable curves with a minimal amount of visual "weight". Congratulations on the Manquette set! I will be watching for ways to learn from your style.
