Regalia

Here is where I am with my alternate "Battle" design - "Regalia".

Note the centrepiece is a Siam rivoli and not the oval black glass bead I had in yesterday's post.
This large Antique rivoli was the gift of my friend Melissa Ingram of Social Butterfly jewellery,
a great designer. Many thanks Mel.

I spent this morning joining the components I had already made.
I am now debating whether to make this necklace 'spectacular' by making the remainder
the same as the rivolis each side of the centrepiece
OR
just take a band in black and gold seeds off from what is there.

I shall sleep on it I guess.

Please feel free to let me have your thoughts and comments

  4. Great beadwork!
I had continued with flat herringbone with a little red around the edges.

  5. It's a wonderful design, Patrick. It reminds me of a military mandellion. I think whether you should continue the motifs in the rest of the necklace or go for a simpler band would depend on the purpose of the necklace - if this is a competition piece, I would go spectacular. If this is for wear, a band would be more comfortable. Either way, it's going to be beautiful when finished, I'm sure!

    1. Hello Caroline, thanks for the message. I have decided to go with spectacular. The remainder of the necklace will be like the smaller pieces between the bigger ones, all the way around. I am almost finished and naturally will post up a picture. The Battle of the Beadsmith reveals will start early next week. I will also be able to show my Battle entry. If you do go on Facebook it would be worth your while to check out the Facebook page for Battle of the Beadsmith. 80 new designs will be shown to the world of which myself, Neva and a few more Aussies will be part of.
Your designs would be fantastic in the Tournament. Maybe next time it is run. So what have you been creating lately?

      Cheers....Patrick
