Here is Whirl No.2 made with much nicer beads and also with a larger rivoli to make the pendant
a lot bigger.
I have hung this on a herringbone twist rope in the old cowboy lariat stylewhereby the pendant is
quite high up and the dangles are in the cleavage. This is a style of jewellery I remember fondly
from the 1980's.
I am sure they are still worn like this in the American west but I haven't seen any here for sometime.
There are other variations of this design I wish to create and I will certainly be
giving my time in making them.
Hi,Patrick:-)
ReplyDeleteThe Whirl No2 seems to be more delicate, than the previous one.Possibly because of colors You'have used here and also the addition of the herringbone twist rope makes it visually even more 'subtle'.Its construction really reminds the old cowboy's lariat style.
Warm Greetings-Halinka-
Thank you Halinka. Yes I hung the pendant in the old cowboy lariat style because I wanted to bring the viewer's focus right onto the whirl pendant.

I loved the previous Whirl too but this one with the herringbone is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI also love the colours.
Greetings and thank you Amy. The first one was an experiment using seeds I have in large quantity. When the experiment was successful I wanted to make another using good seed beads and a bigger rivoli, as well as make a rope for it.
