Another Multi-chain

A new design for my multi-chain range. Green delicas and Czech fire polished crystals make up the centrepiece.
You can't quite see the crystals as they are around the edges of the pendant centrepiece.
I do enjoy making these.

The next Stage in my Multi chain phase - double sided

The Next Stage. With this creation I have succeeded in making a two sided necklace. I used 6mm round Swarovski crystals in the centre, with 3mm Czech fire polished beads embellished around the edges.

These images are close ups on the pendant. Where the chain has been woven in cannot be seen front or back so I am a happy chappy. The wearer will also be happy having a necklace that is actually two necklaces.

I can see loads of possibilities and varieties will come from making this pendant and am looking forward to further experimenting with more colours. Stay Tuned !!!

The Latest in My Multichain Phase

 Here is my latest multi-chain necklace. Fuschia 6mm Swarovski AB bicone centre with delica surround. I have been developing a pendant that doesn't show where the chain has been woven in. This is my first success. You can see the join on the back of the work but not the front. I also developed a better way to stop the chains from rolling over each other, when worn, by beading flat squares, joining the chain, then joining these squares to the clasp. The chains stay in place when the wearer puts the necklace on. Yippeee!!

Fun with Chain

Here are my latest designs incorporating chain into the weave.

Having found a really lovely bronze looking chain I couldn't wait to come up with a design using this chain. Below is another example - much longer - combining weaving, chain and wire work.

I have made another necklace but didn't like the pics I took so I will have to add this tomorrow. I have another idea going around in my head right now and am looking forward to manifesting this also.

Coral red crystals

Black Agate, black Czech fire polished beads with gold and black seed beads embellished with a new coral red Swarovski crystal. I love how this necklace looks on the wearer. The chain with the drop dangles hang just in the cleavage. Having created this design I have also come up with many variations to the base allowing for very interesting combinations in the necklace. One for the classroom eventually.

Rings that Sparkle and Flash

 Getting ready for the Gallery showing Saturday April 16th - at Flourish Arts, Birchgrove (see post below) - I have come up with some beautiful ring designs, using those adjustable ring templates. This is this morning's creation using a 6mm Swarovski Fuschia crystal as the centrebead and surrounding this with black and silver Swarovski crystals then edging it in fuschia. The top is about the size of a 50 cent coin.
BOY does it flash and sparkle !.

Another one using a Swarovski Emerald 6mm crystal centre bead and surrounding it in the silver Swarovski and edging it in the emerald again. I like the touches of  purple around the outer edge.

and here is yesterdays original creation where it all started. A Swarovski 6mm Ruby centrebead surrounded in the new Coral Opal Swarovski crystals, then silver and then edging it in the AB Clear crystals. I like how the seed beads form a star like pattern.

These four are smaller in size - about the size of a 20 cent coin. The have a 6mm Swarovski centrebead - one being a pearl - then three rows of Swarovski crystals. The seed bead really compliments the centrebead, making a really delicate and very flashing ring any woman would want to be seen wearing. I love making these and am sure they will be well received in the gallery.

On Saturday April 16th, 2011 I shall be doing a "Meet the Artist" at a gallery in Birchgrove (Balmain).
I am there from 2:00pm to 5:00pm and will be showcasing my latest designs and talking about my creations and what inspires me.

Crucifix

Whilst playing around experimenting with beads I managed to create a crucifix. I have made a few now and here is my most recent example.

I really like the colours as they seem to remind me of those highly decorated Russian crucifix's of many years ago.

These are really enjoyable to make and the colour/decorative possibilities are absolutely limitless.

I am sure this will be something I'll continue to make and experiment upon as there is always a call for crucifix's.

Dagger Flower Pendant & necklace

Continuing on from the green Dagger necklace (below) I wanted to try my hand at making a flower and here is the result. A centre of Swarovski Olivine crystals then surrounded in 4mm Czech firepolished round beads with the dagger shaped beads around the outside.

I have then woven a 3mm black Czech fire polished crystal necklace off the back of the flower in R.A.W. and embellished the band in 15/0s and 11/0s. Check out the clasp, loop and dangle. Very cute!  The overall look of this piece is a flower hanging from a black lace band. I am really happy with this design. I have no doubt more will follow.
